Description
Indian grass (Sorghastrum nutans) is a tall warm-season grass native to much of the United States. It can reach heights of up to four feet and features narrow in-rolled leaves. Its flowerheads are characteristically golden-orange and have a fiber-like texture. This species is very drought tolerant and reasonably heat resistant, and is often used in landscaping and for purposes such as erosion control. Indian grass makes a great addition to any garden; it is very easy to maintain and can often survive without supplemental water.
