Russian HawthornRussian Hawthorn Crataegus ambigua

This is a small shrub-like tree with horizontal branching and long thin thorns.  It is known for its white flowers that turn to red fruit.  The birds love to eat the fruit throughout the winter.  The leaves range from bright orange to red in the fall.  This tree should not be planted above 9,500 feet.  The mature height is 15′ and 15′ wide.
