Buckeye

BuckeyeBuckeye Aesculus glabra

This showy tree has dark green leaves divided into 5 leaflets.  Hailing from the great state of Ohio, the tree is very hardy and sports white blooms early in the spring .  This tree produces small green nuts which form with spikes.  When the nut drys out it starts to split and exposes a dark brown seed that resembles a deer’s eye.   Do not plant this tree in elevations higher than 8,500 feet.  This tree will reach 35′ high and 35′ wide. We go nuts for the Buckeyes!
