Northern Red Oak Quercus rubra

This is one of the few fast growing oaks with broad spreading branches and a round crown.  The leaves turn red, then brown and orange in the fall.  These trees grow to be large and sturdy with minimal to no damage from the winter elements.  They live very long lives so they will be in your yard for generations to come.  Do not plant in elevations higher than 8,000 feet. They will get to be 50 feet in height and about 30 feet in width.
