Aspen Populus tremuloides

The aspen is an excellent Colorado tree.  This tree is extremely hardy and has a fibrous root system.   The aspen tree thrives in elevation between 7,000 and 9,000 feet.  When this tree is planted at lower elevations it is more susceptible to have problems with insects and disease.   This tree adds great contrast to your landscape due to the milky white bark and the bright green leaves changing to golden-yellow and even red in the fall.   This tree will mature at 35′ and 15′ wide.
