Pampas Grass Saccharum ravennae

This tall grass makes a statement.  You can see it towering over many privacy fences in Colorado.  The large mounds of cascading foliage flower in late summer.  the foliage turns handsome tan to orange.  This is a very hardy grass and works great in dry areas.  Many people harvest some of the flower stalks before they fully expand.  It is great to put them in fresh floral arrangements. Do not use this grass past 8,000 feet.  It may grow to 12′ tall and 5′ wide.
