Fountain Grass Pennisetum alopecuroides
This grass makes a nice statement especially when it is back lit by the sun, making it resemble a sparkling fountain. This grass emerges early in the spring. Tan colored flower heads with pink, maroon, tones appear in the middle of the summer. The leaves are light tan (blondish to white) by the late fall. Do not plant above 6,000 feet. This grass gets to be 2-3′ tall and 2′ wide.
